Kaitlin Curtice is an award-winning author, poet-storyteller, and public speaker whose writings have challenged, comforted, and companioned many of us. This year, we are delighted that she is leading our inaugural FIRE Stories cohort and joining us a Faith & Justice Teaching Fellow. We look forward to ongoing conversation and learning together on our Faith & Justice Network.
As an enrolled citizen of the Potawatomi nation, Kaitlin writes and speaks on the intersections of spirituality and identity and how that shifts throughout our lives. Curtice is the co-founder and director of the Aki Institute, which is dedicated to creating positive change in the world through rest, responsibility, and resistance. The work of the Aki Institute is driven by a commitment to social justice, equality, and human rights.
Her newest books are Fall’s Abundance: An Indigenous Celebration of Nature (September 2026), the latest title in her Four Seasons children’s series with Convergent/Random House, and Everything Is a Story (adult nonfiction, October 2025). She also writes essays and poetry for The Liminality Journal and spends her time supporting other authors as they navigate the world of publishing. Kaitlin lives near Philadelphia with her partner, two dogs, and two kids.
