Cohorts & Leaders for 2025-26

A nine-month journey, from September to May, of theological formation for exploring the spiritual and public dimensions of Christian faith. Experience the Faith and Justice curriculum with a cohort of peers! For 2025-26, we have some fabulous groups coming together to grow and learn together. Get to know our leaders and their cohorts!

AAPI Cohort (online) | Howard Kim
The AAPI Cohort engages the Faith and Justice curriculum through the lens of AAPI identities. Howard is a graduate of Duke Divinity School (MDiv) and this will be his fourth year of involvement with Faith and Justice.

Alumni Cohort (online) | Bavani (“V”) Kehoe
The Alumni Cohort is for anyone who has completed the Faith and Justice Fellowship in the past five years. Formal meetings are once a month, though the cohort frequently gathers for a “watch party” around F&J content, and tuition is 50% of regular cohorts. V’s first year in the fellowship was over a decade ago. For the past six years, she has led or participated in a Faith and Justice cohort.

Open Cohort (online) | Mira Sawlani
The Open Cohort is for anyone committed to exploring faith and justice in the context of community. A graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary (MDiv), Mira is Minister of Justice, Advocacy, and Change at the historic Riverside Church in the City of New York. Since completing the academic track of the Faith and Justice Fellowship, she has served for many years as a cohort leader.

Open Cohort (SF Bay Area, hybrid*) | Angela Yoo and Peter Choi
The Open Cohort is for anyone committed to exploring faith and justice in the context of community. Angela joined Faith & Justice three years ago through the AAPI cohort and has returned every year since. She is interested in the connection between the inner life of the spirit and the outer work of social change, and is excited to join her first in-person cohort in San Francisco. Peter is executive director of the Center for Faith and Justice and his favorite part of the job is being part of the rich spiritual community that is a F&J cohort.

Questioning Faith Cohort (NYC, hybrid*) | Nineesha Koshy
The Questioning Faith Cohort is for anyone wanting to work through questions and doubts with a community dedicated to honest inquiry beyond formal definitions of Christianity. Nineesha joined Faith and Justice three years ago as a participant in the AAPI Cohort. With careful attention to her own spiritual journey, she is now excited to lead a cohort in NYC for those who want to cultivate a spirituality with/without religious affiliation.

Spiritual Renewal Cohort (online) | Sophie Callahan and Peter Choi
A cohort committed to the work of justice in a way that prioritizes personal rest, collective healing, and a more expansive theological imagination. Sophie is a graduate of Candler Theological Seminary (MDiv) and a PhD candidate in Practical Theology at the Graduate Theological Union. Peter is executive director of the Center for Faith and Justice and his favorite part of the job is being part of the rich spiritual community that is a F&J cohort.

*Hybrid cohorts alternate between in-person and online meetings.
