Speakers & Guides

Schedule
Our gathering begins at 6:30 pm PT Thursday and concludes at 2:30 pm PT on Saturday. This is a draft schedule and subject to change. All times on schedule below shown in Pacific Time (PT).
6:30 Registration & Light Dinner
7:00 Welcome & Introductions
7:20 Session 1
- The Quest for Racial Solidarity in an American Church | Hahrie Han
Han chronicles the story of four participants whose lives were fundamentally altered by Undivided, a faith-based program designed to foster antiracism and systemic change. As each of their journeys unfolded, in unpredictable and sometimes painful ways, they came to better understand one another, and to believe in the transformative possibilities for racial solidarity in a moment of deep divisiveness in America. The lessons they learned have the power to teach us all what an undivided society might look like—and how we can help achieve it. - Breathing Womanist Air as a Way of Re-Imagining Faith | Angela Parker
In a walk through Paul’s letter to the church at Galatia, Parker leads a session on breathing womanist air as a way of re-imagining faith. As we think about our stories of the Bible and how we all came to faith in Jesus, we will ponder how the faith of Jesus speaks to us in today’s topsy-turvy world. Can the promise of the faith of Jesus move us out of the deep story of White Christian nationalism into a faith that allows all of us to “make it home?” Such shall be our deep prayer.

- Mom, It’s Ruined! How Creatives Will Save the Future of Faith | Adriene Thorne
This will be a power packed, interactive, and embodied experience that highlights self-compassion,
reframing, and the power of the creative mind to get ready for the unknown and unexpected world
heading our way. While we will not be able to calm every anxiety and every fear, we will begin to invite
a mindset and worldview that sees possibility and beauty in the broken. - The Art of Improvisation | Gail Song Bantum
When someone tells us to “imagine the future,” it can be a daunting and risky endeavor. I wonder if the pressure we place on a dream unfolding a certain way, can become a disappointment when that “way” is not at all what we imagined for ourselves and others. What can jazz improvisation tell us about imagining the future, about faith? That there is an art to faith – a freedom to imagine, while being certain the melody is never lost.

She will share forward focused thoughts about what men and women can do to create greater equity, and what we all can do to create healthy spiritual communities that can work together for the greater good.
- Rejecting the American Vision of Apocalyptic Immigration | Yii-Jan LinAmerica has long viewed itself as the exceptional shining City of God of Revelation 21.But this identification with Revelation’s New Jerusalem has actually supported the exclusion of immigrant groups by labeling them as idolators, sexually immoral, diseased, and to be kept out by walls and gates.
