Spring 2025: The Work of Justice in Bewildering Times

What does Christian faith have to say about politics and love of neighbor? Gender and trans identity? Immigration and how we relate to foreigners? Racial hierarchy and violence? It turns out a great deal.

From February through May, we will tackle these challenging, urgent, and vital topics to embody a faith that calls us to love and justice. Four important recent books will guide our conversations:

  • Angela Parker, If God Still Breathes, Why Can’t I?: Black Lives Matter and Biblical Authority (Eerdmans, 2021)
  • Hahrie Han, Undivided: The Quest for Racial Solidarity in an American Church (Knopf, 2024)
  • Paula Stone Williams, As a Woman: What I Learned about Power, Sex, and the Patriarchy after I Transitioned (Atria Books, 2021)
  • Yii-Jan Lin, Immigration and Apocalypse: How the Book of Revelation Shaped American Immigration (Yale University Press, 2024)

At our winter gathering in January, all four authors of the books will be with us in San Francisco. We hope you’ll join us as we learn about these crucial topics through the lens of faith and justice.
