Fellowship

You can do the fellowship from anywhere in the world. The core learning takes place through our online learning platform, while some cohorts meet fully online and others in person. 

We are committed to being a fellowship program that flourishes as a hybrid learning community.  

Since 2012, we have been involved in distance learning programs in partnership with a broad array of accredited educational institutions. Hundreds of students from over a dozen U.S. states have gone through our various programs.

We offer three optional in-person gatherings each year: a Fall Retreat (Sept 15-17, 2023), a Winter Conference (Jan 26-27, 2024), and a Spring Gathering (May 17-18, 2024). These events occur in different parts of the San Francisco Bay Area and draw people from across North America and the world.

Network Membership | 1+ hr(s)/wk
Network members engage the content at a flexible pace that works for them. In addition to two online webinar gatherings each month, there are online discussions and reading materials. Network members also receive invitations to our annual gatherings. 

Fellowship | 2-3 hrs/wk
In addition to network participation (above), fellows engage in two Zoom cohort meetings each month. 

Academic Track | 8-12 hrs/wk
Students on the academic track should expect varying lengths of time for different individuals, depending on their learning styles. On average, participants should plan to spend 3-5 hours/wk reading + 1-2 hours in reflection/discussion each week + 4-5 hrs/wk on course assignments.

It is possible to do the work of the fellowship for advanced standing with credit at one of our partner seminaries:

• Austin Theological Seminary
• Fuller Theological Seminary
• Pittsburgh Theological Seminary
• Western Theological Seminary 

Our students have gone on to study at each of the seminaries above as well as Luther Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Wesley Theological Seminary. Please visit our Seminary page for more info and to apply for the Academic Track. 

$1095 total ($945 early bird by 6/15), covering participation from September through May. Includes Network membership plus cohort participation. 

Member Discount: Current F+J Network members receive a 10% discount (after application fee and deposit). 

Additional Costs: Optional gatherings will have separate registration fees.

Scholarships are available for early applications (by June 15). Participants make payments as follows: $25 application fee, $100 deposit to confirm participation, and three payments (Sept 1, Dec 1, March 1) for the remaining balance.
